Overview
This project focused on a digital members platform for Crystal Palace FC, giving supporters access to exclusive content through a dedicated online experience.
I led the UX and creative direction for a responsive site that needed to reflect the club’s recent rebrand while remaining simple, reliable and easy to use across devices.
The brief
Crystal Palace FC required a dedicated members platform to provide secure access to exclusive content and club benefits.
The goal was to create a clear separation between public and members-only areas, improve navigation, and deliver a responsive experience aligned to the club’s refreshed brand. Mobile access was a priority, particularly around match days, with a focus on straightforward registration, login and content discovery.
Research and insights
Research was carried out through stakeholder discussions with the club and agency team, alongside a review of existing content and how members were expected to engage with it.
This helped identify when and how supporters would use the platform, with mobile access around match days emerging as a key factor. There was also a clear expectation that content should feel genuinely exclusive and quick to access, rather than buried behind complex navigation.
These findings informed a straightforward structure with clear content routes and minimal friction for logged in users.
Design work
The design focused on delivering a dependable members experience that felt clearly tied to the Crystal Palace identity.
Layouts were created to support frequent content updates, with flexibility for different media types without clutter. The visual design applied the updated brand confidently but with restraint, keeping readability and usability front and centre.
The site was designed to work consistently across devices, recognising that many members would access it on mobile.
