Bantr
UX/UI APP
Role
Founding team and Lead Designer
Overview
Bantr was one of the early sports social network apps, built before many of today’s mobile patterns were established.
It combined live match data with fan interaction, built around real time banter and the social side of sport. With no clear blueprint, the structure and interactions had to be defined from the ground up.
I led the UX and UI across tablet and mobile, keeping the experience fast, clear and genuinely fun to use during live games.

Research and insights
Research was informal and iterative, driven by discussions within the team and early feedback from football fans.
It became clear that the social side needed to feel authentic. The banter had to feel natural, not gimmicky, and live data had to be clear and trustworthy. If either felt off, the experience would fall apart.
This shaped a simple, direct interaction model, keeping stats readable and making participation quick and easy during live games.
Design work
I shaped both the brand and the interface across desktop and mobile.
The identity reflected the social, competitive side of sport, while the UI kept live data readable and interactions quick. The focus was on making participation easy during matches without cluttering the experience.
